"What's in my vanity?"- August 27th

Hey guys! Let me just preface this blogpost by explaining this new series to you... Since I am not making tutorials right now, I am trying to really use the products I have day-to-day, and really mix it up often. I got the idea from ShadesofKassie; she does this series of videos where every week she posts what she is using that week. So, I will change out some products every week and show you them. I won't show you foundation or anything where I use the same thing all the time, unless it's something new. So, after that extremely long introduction, let's get started!

Eye Makeup:
Urban Decay Rollergirl Palette
Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Palette
Too Faced Eyeshadow Single in Sitcom Siren
Maybelline Color Tattoos in: Bad to the Bronze and Fuchsia Fever (le)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners in Whiskey & Rockstar

Blush & Lips:
Wet n Wild Coloricon Blusher in Heather Silk
elf Studio Blush in Tickled Pink
Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipglosses in Coral Reef and Pink Pop

And that's what's in my vanity this week until next Sunday. Hope you enjoyed, and please check out my facebook (sapphiremakeup928) if you want to see how I use these products in Face of the Days :)

COMING SOON!

Hey guys! So, I just posted a video (http://youtu.be/cMXcA8KSGrs) about some changes to my Youtube due to me heading to college tomorrow and I wanted to make this blog post to let you know some of the things I am planning on doing on all of my media locations to make up for not making as many videos.

In case you guys didn't know, I do now have a Youtube, Blog, Twitter and Facebook dedicated to my love of makeup, and on each site I will be doing some cool new things this fall.

Youtube

So, on Youtube I have a new series coming called "Faces and Places." What this will be is a new celebrity inspired video every Sunday and a new US state inspired tutorial every Wednesday. I have prefilmed and edited all of these videos in the last month so they are all ready to go! Also, there will be blogposts right here to correspond to each video. And other than that, I hope to do some quick OOTDs and Getting Ready videos whenever I get the chance.

Blog

Here on my blog, as I said I will be posting for each video I upload as well as putting any hauls or reviews I want to do on here rather than making a video.

Facebook

On Facebook, I have created an album called Face of the Day. Every (or most) days I will take a picture of the makeup I wear and post it with a list of products in the caption. This will just be a way for you all to see what makeup I am wearing even though I am not currently filming tutorials.

Twitter

And Twitter will be the place I will be trying to be on the most, telling you guys what I am up to, what makeup is on my wishlist, what looks I love, etc. Also, I am going to be doing posts called #FlashbackFriday where I post a link to an old video every Friday, as a way to give some of my faves little shoutouts.

Anyways, I hope you guys check out all my media sites and please follow/subscribe/like them to see all the cool stuff I have coming this fall. They are all linked in their subheadings.

Today's Look: Miley Cyrus

Hey guys! So for today's look I was inspired by Miss Miley Cyrus and her September 2012 cover of Marie Claire magazine (aka the magazine with the best makeup looks).

As soon as I saw this look I knew I wanted to do it because of all of the plummy and taupe tones in it. It's the kind of colors that would flatter anyone but with a unique edge to the shadow that makes it a little out there like Miley.

Products used:
Tape
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Sitcom Siren
ULTA Eyeshadow in Plum Smoke
Wet n Wild Silent Treatment Eyeshadow Trio
MAC Eyeshadow in Brown Down

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Rockstar
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
elf Studio Blush in Fuchsia Fusion
Stila Convertible Color in Lillium
Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch
NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Beige

The look does involve a lot of products to get the dimension but I tried to make it easy for you all to follow so I really hope you will check out the full tutorial to see how to create the look: http://youtu.be/wkPnLx6wukM

Today's Look: Cher Lloyd

Hey guys! So I can't seem to escape this song, so I thought "Hey! Let's just make a tutorial!" I was inspired by the scenes in the US version of her video where she is wearing the brighter outfit for the corally lips.

This look is just a simple and bright look with the lips being the focal point, and I think it is really fun but not TOO over the top.

Products used:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Too Faced Eyeshadow in Heaven (from Teddy Bear/Heaven duo)
Wet n Wild Greed Palette (discontinued) (matte peach)
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero
Maybelline One by One Mascara on Lower Lashes
L'oreal Voluminoua Carbon Black Mascara
elf Studio Blush in Fuchsia Fusion
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Strawberry Suede (discontinued)
Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart

Discount Makeup Haul

Hey guys! So I picked up some discounted beauty items from All Cosmetic Wholesale and Nordstrom Rack and thought I would share my great finds with you.

All my goodies from ACW =)

Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation-- Normally $28. I got it for $10.

I got mine in the shade 40 watts. It's a little light right now, but it should be perfect for the rest of the year.

Such a rip off that you have to buy the compact separately. At least it's cute?

Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation in 40 Watts placed in the compact.

Stila Compact: Normally $14. I got it for $9

Too Faced Teddy Bear Flatbuki Brush-- Normally $15. I got it for $7.

I originally got it for powder, but I'm loving it for contouring =)

Too Faced Shadow Insurance-- Normally $18. I got it for $16.

I just LOVE Too Faced packaging

Too Faced Duo in Erotica/Silk Teddy

Duo is normally $17. I got it for $8.

I didn't realize this when I bought them but they are so dupes for Urban Decay Dark Horse and Sin.

Too Faced Duo in Teddy Bear/Heaven

Duo is normally $17. I got it for $9.

Some great basic matte colors that can be perfect to complete any look.

Too Faced Eyeshadow Single in Sitcom Siren

Eyeshadow is usually $16. I got it for $9.

I thought it would be a Satin Taupe dupe, but it seems more silvery.

Too Faced Single in... well, you guys can read right? (Big round of applause to Too Faced and Urban Decay for making makeup names awkward)

Eyeshadow is usually $16. I got it for $8.

MAC Club dupe, but it's not any more amazing than my Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette color.

And there they all are: Erotica/Silk Teddy, Teddy Bear/Heaven, Sitcom Siren and Label Whore (I typed it =O) all by Too Faced

l-r: Erotica, Silk Teddy, Teddy Bear, Heaven, Sitcom Siren and Label Whore
Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Rockstar (Sample Size)-- $5

Rockstar is a beautiful Darkened Plum color.
Korres Lip Butter in Guava-- Normally $12. I got it for $6.

Because it is kind of pricey for a lip balm I've been reserving it for only nighttime use, it's so thick and moisturizing!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Strawberry Suede, Apricot Fantasy and Pink In the Afternoon

The finishes are: Strawberry Suede (matte), Apricot Fantasy (pearl) and Pink in the Afternoon (creme)

Strawberry Suede (discontinued)-- Normally would cost $9. I got it for $4.50.

Apricot Fantasy-- Normally  $9. I got it for $4.50.

Pink In the Afternoon-- Normally $9. I got it for $4.50.

l-r: Strawberry Suede, Apricot Fantasy and Pink in the Afternoon

And that's all for All Cosmetic Wholesale stuff!

Sorry this is sideways, I can't rotate it on here. Anyways, this is the Urban Decay Vegan Palette. It originally retailed for $34. I got it for $12.

It comes with a sample size of the primer potion in Sin

And there, on the right side of my hand is a swatch. It is like Sin eyeshadow in Primer Potion form. Gorgeous!

Not gonna lie, that chihuhua freaks me out, but it is very unique packaging.

Here is what it looks like on the inside, with the 6 eyeshadows and liner.

It comes with UD's classic black liner, Zero.

Eyeshadows you get (Left to right as you move down): Twice Baked (warm brown), Minx (sheer shimmery blue), Smog (this Naked color is a soft bronze), Urb (a gorgeous light mossy green), Half Baked (a stunning yellowy gold which is in both Naked 1 and 2) and Gunmetal (a blue toned charcoal from the original Naked).

Top to bottom: Minx, Urb, Gunmetal, Twice Baked, Smog and Half Baked.

Top to bottom: Minx, Urb, Gunmetal, Twice Baked, Smog and Half Baked.

Hope you guys enjoyed this comprehensive look at what I bought including photos, swatches and prices and please check out the video form of this haul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ba4RDEfwQo
